Bay Burger in Sag Harbor
About Us
Bay Burger, which had its grand opening in May 2007, brings a much-needed burger joint to The Hamptons. Originally built in 1970 as Whalerburger, the building housed The Gingerbread Bakeshop (“Linda’s Famous Cheesecake”) for over twenty years. Owners Liza and Joe Tremblay completely rehabilitated the space into a polished but laid-back sandwich shop. With 50 indoor and 26 patio seats, Bay Burger’s simple décor puts a modern spin on the favorite roadside joint. Customers place orders at a butcher-block counter and the food is delivered to their tables. Take-out is also available in addition to a walk-up ice cream window. The rear dining room features a 50” plasma television where guests can play X-Box 360 or catch up on the latest sporting event. Local beer and wine is always available in addition to the incredible homemade ice cream and shakes.
A former grill man at Burger Joint in Le Parker Meridien Hotel and manager of ‘wichcraft, both in Manhattan, Joe has combined his love for a five-napkin burger with a learned appreciation for a complex and balanced sandwich. A graduate of The Institute of Culinary Education, Liza oversees Bay Burger’s dining room and makes the much buzzed-about homemade ice cream. Joe and Liza are thrilled to bring their vision of the perfect burger joint to Sag Harbor and can be found every day behind the counter at Bay Burger.
